Legal Counsel
Job Description

We are ALSO Group, a Swiss listed organization in the field of ICT Supply, Services and Solutions with offices in over 30 countries. In France, ALSO is a major distributor of hardware and software of well-known A-brands.

ALSO brings together suppliers and buyers of the ICT industry and offers more than 700 suppliers of hardware, software and IT services access to more than 110,000 buyers, who can call on a broad spectrum of other tailor-made services in the logistics, finance and IT services sectors, in addition to the traditional distribution services.

Your area of responsibility will cover France, Portugal, Spain and Italy. As such, the role may be based in any of these countries.
You will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel of the ALSO Group.

As a legal professional, you will act as a pragmatic and approachable legal adviser to support senior management and local operations. You will be actively involved in developing the local legal department, its structures and its processes.
You will provide support on commercial matters to senior management, managers and the various departments.
You will be required to attend meetings with clients and suppliers to contribute your expertise.

Key responsibilities:

- Analysing, negotiating and drafting contracts for clients, suppliers and partners to ensure compliance.
- Work with local business units to support and drive the business forward in compliance with legislation.
- Manage, analyse and monitor litigation matters.
- Further development of the legal department.
- Provide analysis, expertise and advice to operational staff in the performance of their duties, and information on obligations arising from current and forthcoming French legislation.
- Maintain legal monitoring and update procedures as legislative changes occur.

 
Your profile:

We are looking for a committed legal professional with a service-oriented mindset and a thorough approach, who is adaptable, inquisitive and ready to find pragmatic solutions to drive the business forward whilst protecting our legal interests.
- A higher education qualification in law and 5 years’ successful experience in contract law, commercial law, business law, information systems and/or new technologies.
- At least 3 years’ in-house legal experience.
- Excellent communication skills in French and English, both written and spoken.
- Analytical skills
- Strong relationship manager with good communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise effectively, remain flexible and meet commitments.
- Fluency in local languages, French and English is essential (written and spoken)
